WOMEN’S BAR ASSOCIATION OF ORANGE AND SULLIVAN COUNTIES FOUNDATION, INC. (“WBAOSC Foundation”) is currently seeking qualified applicants.

Two (2) WBAOSC Foundation Scholarships of $1,500 each may be awarded to deserving female law school students (accepted or currently attending) who were residents of Orange or Sullivan Counties, New York at the time of their graduation from high school or college.  




The WBAOSC Foundation Scholarships are intended to:

  • Recognize law students who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence and an aptitude for leadership and philanthropy;
  • Promote excellence in legal studies by providing assistance to deserving students; and
  • Advance the purposes of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties and the WBAOSC Foundation. 


Two Scholarships of $1500 may be awarded for qualified education expenses of tuition, fees or course related expenses to two students from Orange and Sullivan Counties. The Rose S. Rosen Memorial Scholarship and Susan B. Keiser Memorial Scholarship (descriptions are on the last page of the attached application) are named after pioneering members of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties. Scholarship recipients also receive a free (1) year WBAOSC membership if eligible.  


Any female student, resident of Orange or Sullivan Counties, NY at the time of graduation from high school or college, and currently attending, or accepted for admission in, law school (payable if school is attended). 


Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership and philanthropic potential, and a strong commitment to the profession, and/or the ability to overcome difficult obstacles. Involvement in programs that highlight advancement or support of women in the profession and in the community and participation in community outreach programs will also be considered.  Previous recipients of a scholarship remain eligible to reapply if otherwise meeting the criteria.

June 26, 2019 at the WBAOSC Annual Installation Dinner held at The Eagle’s Nest, Bloomgingburg, New York.  The recipient(s) are expected to be in attendance and are welcome to bring one guest without charge.
